A showcase for the best professional watercolourists from all over the world
The Art of Watercolour is also your magazine… Thanks to our Readers’ Contest, which is growing more and more popular with each issue, you have the opportunity to have your watercolours not only assessed by your peers, but also, if you are lucky enough to win, to benefit from an article and thus a worldwide platform to showcase your paintings!
As we all know, watercolour is as much about technique as it is about letting go. Probably more than other techniques, it requires a perfect knowledge of the tools, the handling of the paper and the properties of the different pigments. With this in mind, we offer you a special report with eight pages devoted to the different papers, mediums and watercolours available on the market.
This issue is packed with encounters from the four corners of the world and will allow you to meet artists who, each in their own way, have used watercolour as a vehicle for expressing their ideas. You will thus take pleasure – we hope – in discovering Abdelfettah Karmane’s hyperrealistic still lifes, Francisco Castro’s misty and dreamy landscapes, Galina Shargina’s remarkable floral compositions, to name but a few.
Happy painting and reading!
